Female prison officer ‘filmed having sex’ with inmate

A female prison officer has been nicked after “being filmed having sex with inmate”, the latest scandal to rock the UK prison system.

A female prison officer is being investigated by police after being caught on camera allegedly having sex with an inmate in his cell.

The guard - suspended from the role - was seen performing a lewd act on a burly, tattooed inmate before they apparently romped as he filmed it, The Sun reports.

In shocking footage, the blonde officer’s trousers have been removed while her white prison-issue blouse is visible along with a blue lanyard containing her official security pass.

Her metal chain rattles on her belt – usually containing handcuffs, baton and pepper spray – as the inmate grunts and groans with pleasure.

The brief video - taken at privately-run Five Wells prison in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire – is the latest to hit Britain’s scandal-plagued prison system.

Police have arrested the female officer while the inmate has been moved to another jail.

It comes after married warder Linda de Sousa Abreu, 30, admitted misconduct in a public office after footage showed her romping with burglar Linton Wieirich at HMP Wandsworth.

The clip from G4-S-run Five Wells clearly shows the faces of the officer and the bearded inmate as she performs a sex act on him.

It has been shared among lags at the £253 million Category C prison, as well as their pals on the outside.

Linda de Sousa Abreu, 30, was caught on video with an inmate.

She admitted misconduct in a public office.

And a source told The Sun: “It is really shocking, especially after scandals at other jails.

“And things are clearly so lax in there that they think they can be doing this all day, messing around with members of staff.

“He’s obviously enjoying himself and they have both got caught up in the moment - but the female warder is being incredibly stupid and playing with fire.

“She had risked everything and it has been reported to bosses so her career is effectively over.

“I know they’re called screws but you can’t be sleeping with prisoners in your own prison and you definitely shouldn’t be doing it on camera.

“It looks like the prisoner is filming it on a smuggled phone and it is unclear if she knows she’s being recorded.

“But whatever the case, it is incredibly reckless behaviour – and you can’t quite believe she’s gone along with it.”

The ‘super-jail’, which is run by security firm G4S, was opened to lags in 2022 and now houses roughly 1700 male prisoners.

Bosses said they worked with the counter-corruption unit set up by the prison and probation service to uncover the officer’s actions.

Inspectors have been critical of the prison, which faced a murder investigation earlier this month after the death of a 49-year-old man on its premises.

An inspection in January found a wide network of drugs were readily available to prisoners, with staff also being accused of a lack of support for those under their watch.

The report by HM Inspector of Prisons Charlie Taylor said Five Wells was hampered by “instability of leadership” and that “drugs remained a huge problem”.

It added: “Staff were inexperienced and – while there was evidence they got on with prisoners – they were not confident in their supervisory responsibilities.”

Our revelations come after we told in June how a sex tape had been filmed in HMP Wandsworth, south London which showed De Sousa Abreu romping with a lag as her radio crackled in the background.

She resigned and later pleaded guilty to misconduct in a public office over the footage, filmed by Werich’s cellmate.

We later revealed the OnlyFans model – subject to stringent bail conditions – stroking her ankle tag on a video and calling it “very demure”.

Figures show that 29 female prison officers have been axed for romping with male lags behind bars in the last three years.

They were among 50 caught having “inappropriate” relationships, with other officers suspended or moved to new roles.

Insiders blame a surge in jail romps on inexperienced, and young, staff who can easily be manipulated by cons.

In previous cases, guards Aleesha Bates, 29, got two years eight months and Jodie Wilkes, 27, a suspended sentence over a three-way fling with an inmate at HMP Buckley Hall in Rochdale.

A spokesman for HMP Five Wells said: “A prison custody officer has been suspended and arrested by Northamptonshire Police on suspicion of misconduct in a public office.

“A prisoner has been relocated. It would be inappropriate to comment further while they investigate.”
