Dating guru Nadia Essex discovered ex was cheating from her FitBit
A dating expert has revealed the unusual way she discovered her ex was cheating in a TikTok video that’s left people gobsmacked.
Proving your partner is cheating on you can be a difficult task.
But this dating guru has revealed she busted an ex-boyfriend’s late-night rendezvous with another woman thanks to her FitBit.
Nadia Essex, who is a relationship expert on British reality show Celebs Go Dating, shared her astonishing story on TikTok in response to a video trend that sees users sharing the moment they knew their relationship was over.
“I’ve got a doozy,” Nadia began in the 60-second clip.
“When my ex-boyfriend came home after a night out with the boys, I thought, let me make him some breakfast.”

But once the mum-of-one got out of bed to make her other half something to help ease his impending hangover, she received an alert on her fitness tracker that changed everything.
“I got a notification on my FitBit, the FitBit that we had synched together, that between 2 o’clock and 3 o’clock in the morning, yesterday morning, he had burned over 500 calories,” she said.
“I shoved that breakfast where the sun doesn’t shine darling.”
Since sharing her story on TikTok, Nadia’s admission has gone viral, clocking up over 412,000 views and hundreds of comments.
“That is defo the worst, you’re so much better without him,” one said.
“So glad you tell him to shove it,” another added.
While one woman said: “OMG who knew FitBit was so helpful in different ways.”
Others suggested her former partner could have been in a club out dancing, something Nadia shut down quickly.
“He wished that was what it was,” she wrote.
“I mean … maybe he had some solo time?” someone else suggested, to which Nadia wrote: “Think it would fall off after burning 500 solo calories.”
Most saw the funny side of the incident, poking fun at the situation that Nadia revealed happened a few years ago.
“What a strange time to do a workout at 2am. Would have loved to have seen his face when you confronted him,” one said.
Another joked: “500 calories? I’m lucky if I burn 20. It must be because he’s burning in hell.”
“For an hour? Do they even last that long anymore?” another scoffed.
While Nadia’s story might seem unusual, she’s not the first woman to reveal she busted her boyfriend cheating this way.
In December 2019, Jane Slater – an NFL sports reporter in the US – revealed her relationship had suffered the same fate.
Jane’s ex had bought her a FitBit for Christmas and they and synched them together and monitor each others activity as well as “motivate” each other to move more.
However, she revealed on Twitter a spike in his activity levels at 4am revealed his cheating antics.
“Wish the story wasn’t real,” she posted, later adding he wasn’t at an early morning gym class.
Spoiler alert: he was not enrolled in an OrangeTheory class at 4am.
