Cops called on TikTok star over vlog of golf trip before lockdown

The Gold Coast influencer was “scared” when police turned up at her home in response to “multiple” complaints about a TikTok she posted.

Cops called over Anna Paul video

When Anna Paul decided to go play a game of golf last Friday night she had no idea it would end in police being called to her house.

On Monday, the TikTok influencer had posted a vlog of her going shopping and to various restaurants before ending the day at Brisbane’s Top Golf.

The video prompted complaints from Anna’s fans, who accused her of breaking lockdown.

But there was just one problem with that claim: Anna’s vlog had been filmed on Friday, a day before southeastern Queensland’s snap lockdown was announced.

On Tuesday, the 22-year-old revealed Queensland Police had paid her a visit at her Gold Coast home, in response to numerous complaints from “weirdos” that she was breaking lockdown rules.

“The police said that they have to ask me where I have been during this lockdown and if I have been at home,” she told news.com.au.

“Because they received multiple reports that I haven’t been at home and hadn’t been following the lockdown rules.”

Anna said it had been easy to prove she had been following lockdown rules because of “proof in my phone” but it had still been unsettling to have police rock up to her house.

“At first I was actually scared because I thought I’d done something wrong,” she said.

“But when I realised that I hadn’t actually done anything wrong and it was just weirdos reporting me I just laughed it off with my family.”

Police confirmed they had gone to Anna’s home to investigate after receiving information of a “possible Covid breach”.

“The complaint was deemed to be unsubstantiated and the matter was finalised,” a Queensland Police Service spokesman said.

Anna also posted a TikTok telling people to stop reporting to police as she usually posted her vlogs a few days late.

“The police said they had multiple, multiple calls to the point were they had to come question me,” she said.

“Places like Top Golf aren’t even open during lockdown, how am I there if it’s lockdown?”

It’s not the first time an influencer has found themselves investigated by police over a social media post in lockdown.

Bondi-based Dominique Elissa said she was shocked when police arrived at her home last month to check she wasn’t breaking stay at home orders.

The 26-year-old model shared a “throwback” photo from a previous trip to Jervis Bay that made several followers believe she had wrongly escaped from locked-down Sydney to the NSW south coast.

“The weirdest thing just happened, two police just rocked up at our house and needed to check I was here because they’ve gotten multiple complaints from people saying I am in Jervis Bay,” she said in a video posted to TikTok.

“I posted a throwback like a few days ago and I’m literally in so much shock that people went to the extent to call the police.”

Anna has more than 630,000 followers on TikTok where she posts daily 60-second vlogs of her life.

Back in March she found her original account deleted and “permanently banned” by TikTok, with Anna claiming it was because she was a sex worker.

Anna works as an adult content creator on OnlyFans where she earns money selling subscriptions to her X-rated content but only posts “innocent” videos on TikTok.
