Comedian Jon-Bernard Kairouz correctly predicts NSW Covid cases for a second consecutive day
An overly confident Jon-Bernard Kairouz shocked Aussies when he correctly predicted NSW’s Covid cases yesterday — and he has done it again.
An Australian comedian has somehow accurately predicted NSW coronavirus cases for a second day in a row.
Jon-Bernard Kairouz declared in a TikTok video Tuesday evening the state would record 97 new cases, and shortly after 11am Wednesday he was proved correct.
He pulled off a similar stunt ahead of Thursday’s press conference, uploading a video on Wednesday evening predicting NSW would record a further 65 cases overnight.
“Number of new cases in Sydney, Gladdy, I’ve got you again,” he said, turning to face a whiteboard covered in bogus calculations.
“If we just carry the one here, there’s 28 infectious cases in the community, plus the diameter of Fairfield divided by the population of Sydney, if we just connect this here, there will be 65 new cases tomorrow,” he said.
And sure enough, Premier Gladys Berejiklian announced Thursday morning the state had recorded 65 new cases.
He told viewers to “follow me when I’m right”.
Hundreds responded following Wednesday’s success saying they were hopeful he was on the money.
One woman joked that she was “jumping on Sportsbet now” to bet on there being 65 new cases.
Others said they would return to his video after the press conference if he was right, but Kairouz assured them there was no need because he was certain to be correct.
Some had so much faith in him they jokingly claimed they were going to put expensive items like their house and the family’s will on him being right.
Kairouz remained tight lipped on his secret and told news.com.au he had yet to decide if he would continue with his daily predictions.
“Perfect numbers, like perfect men, are very rare, so we’ll see,” he said.
When it came to Victoria’s numbers it was a different story however, with the comedian claiming Premier Dan Andrews was a “different beast” that made his cases impossible to calculate.
It’s also been widely speculated that Kairouz has a source inside NSW Health leaking him the numbers, given the accuracy of his predictions.
