Cocaine Cassie’s ex-fiance ‘couldn’t care less’ about new engagement

News of Australian drug smuggler Cassie Sainsbury’s engagement to a female prison lover has not upset her ex-fiance in the slightest.

Cocaine Cassie’s former fiance reportedly “couldn’t care less” about her engagement to her female prison lover.

Scott Broadbridge, the man who once said he would wait 20 years to be with Australian drug smuggler Cassie Sainsbury, messaged friends that he wasn’t bothered by the news.

Sainsbury revealed to New Idea that she was engaged to prison girlfriend Joslianinyer Pico, with Pico posting several loved up posts of the couple to her Facebook page.

Pico is serving time for theft and is due for release in January, months before Sainsbury is eligible for parole.

Pico said she would wait for her fiance’s release, with the couple planning a Colombian beach wedding.

Cassie Sainsbury is engaged in jail to Joslianinyer Pico.

Pico has shared several loved up photos of the pair.

Mr Broadbridge, who famously took a single red rose to the Bogota prison after Sainsbury’s 2017 arrest in Colombia, messaged friends yesterday after they sent him the news.

“I’m honestly so happy with my life and couldn’t care less,” he said, according to Daily Mail Australia.

He reportedly asked friends to stop messaging about the news.

Sainsbury is serving six years inside the Colombian jail for attempting to smuggle 5.8kg of cocaine into the country in April 2017.

She was engaged to Broadbridge at the time of her arrest but their relationship eventually fell apart while she was in prison.

In December 2017, they announced that they were planning a prison wedding for the following spring.

But by the following February they had split, with Sainsbury telling the Kyle and Jackie O Show in April: “From the moment I got in here the relationship was doomed. I broke up with Scott because it was the best thing for me and the best thing for his future as well.

“With time I needed to start thinking about myself and what I needed for myself and my future.”

Scott Broadbridge was engaged to Sainsbury.

She told New Idea that her new love stole her heart.

“We are very happy together and if time allows us, we will be with each other for many years,” she said.

Sainsbury said Pico proposed with a banner and a ring she got on the outside.

Pico calls Sainsbury Rapunzel and has gushed about her love for the drug smuggler on Facebook.

“I promise to be faithful for the rest of my life my princess rapunsel (sic). I love you Cassie,” she wrote alongside a picture of their rings.

Sainsbury could be released in 2020 with good behaviour if early release is approved by a Colombian judge.
