Canberra influencer’s ‘dream’ Bali tattoo goes horribly wrong
A Canberra woman who went to Bali for her “dream” tattoo was left in tears after discovering the inking had gone horribly wrong.
An Australian influencer has broken down in tears after she headed overseas to get her dream tattoo and it went horribly wrong.
Tia Kabir, 19, went on holiday to Bali to get a special inking she’d been “dreaming of”, but was horrified when the tattoo artist changed her design without her permission.
The Canberra-based influencer, who earns a living selling adult images on a popular subscription site, had asked to have the words “Angel Energy” scrawled on her right forearm.
But instead, she ended up with the words “energy angel” – a sight that left her distraught.
“I had a piece of paper that said ‘Angel Energy’ but it was a little too big on the arm after they put the stencil on,” she told news.com.au.
“So after they made it a tiny bit smaller, somehow it flipped around saying ‘Energy Angel’ but I didn’t notice.
“It was only after it was done that I checked it. It put me into shock.”
Ms Kabir was so upset by the finished inking, she took out her phone and filmed herself crying in the street, before revealing the tattoo mistake.
“So I came to Bali to get a tattoo, right, and I’ve been dreaming about getting this tattoo because I don’t get them all the time. I get one like, every few months,” she explains in the clip.
Through her tears, Ms Kabir manages to explain the mix-up, before panning the camera around to show the inking in all its glory.
“Tattoo gone wrong in Bali,” she captioned the video on TikTok, which has been viewed over two million times since it was shared on Sunday.
Ms Kabir’s plight has caused a stir among social media viewers, with many poking fun at the unfortunate situation.
Get another tattoo that says, ‘No Ragrets’,” one teased.
“Were you sleeping when they put the stencil on?” another asked.
Another person said: “That’s what happens when you get ‘taddooos’ in Bali.”
Others were more sympathetic and tried to reassure her it “wasn’t that bad”.
“Well, at least angel is in there,” reasoned one woman.
“I’m dyslexic, so I don’t see the difference. You’re good,” another wrote.
“It’s not that bad compared to others,” someone else said.

But while many speculated the video could be fake, Ms Kabir insists it definitely isn’t, explaining the tattoo company has since done a revision in a bid to fix the error.
“You would think it’s common sense from the tattooist to check the English is correct,” she told news.com.au.
“So I complained and they called me back in after cause they felt so guilty and fixed my tattoo. Now it says, ‘Energy of an Angel.’”
