Bride slams trolls who made fun of her ‘ugly’ $300 wedding gown
A bride-to-be has called out trolls who made fun of the “ugly” wedding gown that she bought online.
A bride-to-be has slammed nasty trolls who called her wedding dress “ugly” and even likened it to “Little Bo Peep” and “Christmas ham”.
Madi Posa, from Texas, US, was over the moon to have found a bargain wedding gown online for just $US200 ($A300), after being quoted thousands for some she had tried on in stores.
She shared her thrifty find to TikTok, but was inundated with hundreds of mean comments from bullies who said the dress was “ugly”.
Madi had not seen the dress in real life, but instead bought it off the internet, and excitedly unwrapped it for the first time for her viewers.
Her dress came in a very tight parcel, and she struggled to open it while “shaking with emotion”.
Unknown to her, it was also inside out, causing a moment of panic in which she thought the wrong dress had been delivered.
But once she got it open properly, she said she was “head over heels” for the vintage pink and blue non-traditional wedding dress.
However, she was disheartened at the negative reaction her video received, with many making fun of it.
“You know it’s your wedding day, right?” said one. “It’s frumpy, but if you like it, that’s the only thing that matters.”
“Nooooooo,” commented another. “It’s giving Little Bo Peep vibes.”
“I liked it better inside out,” another wrote. “Are you really getting married in that Christmas ham?”
“It looks like a nightie my grandma used to wear,” commented another. “I guess everyone has different tastes.”
Despite the negative comments, Madi assured her followers she adored the gown and it was just what she wanted.
“It’s exactly what I hoped for. I’m glad I trusted the process,” she said in a video, while twirling in her new dress, adding that she was unveiling the gown online before showing her own family.
“Thank you to those who have been supportive. I love all the positive and funny things mentioned.
“I’m super happy and no one can change my mind about that.
“So happy for the big day.”
In addition to the negative comments, many said they loved the dress and that she looked like “a princess”.
“Why is everyone stressed? It’s gorgeous!” said one. “It’s a fairy/whimsical wedding dress dream.”
“Girl you are rocking that dress” commented another. “You look absolutely amazing.”
“I’m obsessed with it, you look so beautiful,” said a third. “I can’t wait to see it on you for the big day.”
