Australian influencer slammed over ‘entitled’ Taylor Swift video
The Australian leg of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour is well and truly over but fans are furious after a model slammed the pop singer’s performance.
The Australian leg of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour is well and truly over but fans are furious after a model slammed the pop singer’s performance.
Lola Thompson, 24, was invited to attend one of the Sydney shows by skincare brand Ole Hendrikson – but revealed she wasn’t a fan of the show.
Footage shared on Instagram by Influencer Updates AU showed the model mocking Swift’s dancing while singing Love Story in a kitchen while her friends giggled along.
Suddenly, she burst out saying: “That’s how she dances – and it’s f***ing not worth it.
“We didn’t even stay the whole time – and she had like seven outfit changes and it’s all sparkly bullsh*t.”
Lola then began to comment on the Cardigan songstress’s physical appearance.
Previously, the model had taken to Instagram and thanked the skincare brand for inviting her along to the performance.
News.com.au has reached out to Lola for comment.
Swifties have been left infuriated by the video, particularly asserting the point that real fans missed out on seats after brands purchased tickets and invited influencers.
One TikTok user, @gabies_life, took to the platform to say she understood why brands purchased tickets at the concert and invited influencers, models and celebrities to the shows.
“But if you’re an influencer getting paid lots of money and you get given a ticket and you go, do not then go and make a video mocking the concert,” she said.
“Be a little bit sensitive because lots of people out there didn’t get tickets – Aka myself. And when I was watching it I was so angry and upset at this person who was literally mocking the whole thing.”
She said so many people missed out on tickets and would have leapt at the change to attend one of Swift’s Australian shows, adding she would have paid a lot of money to be able to see her idol live.
“You don’t have to like this artist, you don’t have to like the tour – that is not my point. My point is think about all the people who missed out on tickets, how expensive it is and all that. You are literally that ungrateful,” she said.
Gabie wasn’t the only one with a bone to pick with Lola, with one saying; “It’s so pick me … just say no. No one cares that you don’t want to go. It’s weird.”
Another said: “I think you expect too much from the brain dead influencers lol.”
But one defended Lola’s actions, saying it “wasn’t that deep” and “Swifties were insane”.
