Abbie Chatfield issues hilarious response to Candace Owens
The influencer has responded in the best way possible to claims Australians were living in a “tyrannical police state” due to Covid rules.
Abbie Chatfield has roasted right-wing commentator Candace Owens after the US media personality claimed Australia was “a tyrannical police state” due to Covid restrictions.
The Bachelor star is among the millions of fully vaccinated residents from NSW and Victoria able to now enjoy new freedoms after months of lockdown.
Parts of both states had been subject to stay-at-home orders to prevent coronavirus outbreaks from overwhelming the health system and fatalities from spiralling.
Last week Candace Owens suggested America “invade” Australia to free residents from “tyrannical” Covid restrictions that saw them “quite literally being imprisoned against their will” and unable to leave the country.
She then read out some of the “shocking” rules Australians have had to follow at different points of the pandemic, which included QR code check-ins and household visitor limits.
The response from Aussies to Owens’ tirade on social media verged from the confused to outright mocking.
On TikTok, “imprisoned” Aussies shared videos of themselves enjoying a beer at the pub with friends, or dancing at nightclubs with Owens’ speech playing in the background.
Chatfield, who has been a proponent of lockdowns and faced trolling from anti-vaxxers as a result, has also been enjoying life in “tyrannical” Australia.
The influencer attended a party over the weekend and shared two videos of herself poking fun of Owens’ statements on Australia.
The first one featured her dancing with friends, while the second one featured Chatfield going for an impromptu catwalk and dancing, pouring a drink over herself.
“HELP US,” she captioned the video.

Other Aussies joined in, with one person commenting: “SAVE ME FROM FREE HEALTHCARE.”
“Help us! Our gun control, great health care and decent wages are too much!” another commented.
Others labelled Chatfield’s TikTok “iconic” and said it was now their “favourite video in the world”.
