30yo man charged with murdering his architect father inside $7m family home

A 30-year-old man has been charged with stabbing his father to death after the highly-respected architect was found at 3.30am.

A “highly respected” architect’s family has paid tribute after a tragedy inside his $7 million London home.

Rory Talbot, 30, was charged with murder on Saturday after his father Mark, 75, died at his home on Deodar Road in Putney at 3.30am on Friday.

Mark’s heartbroken family described their “tragic loss” after the death.

Rory has been remanded in custody to appear at Westminster Magistrates Court on January 27.

A spokesman for Mark’s family said: “We are grateful for the support provided by police, our neighbours and others.

“We ask that our privacy is respected while we come to terms with the tragic loss of a highly respected member of the community.”

Photographs of the scene at the time showed a wide police cordon surrounding the ivy-fronted home.

Forensics officers swarmed the scene as cops investigated the death.

A spokesman for the Met Police said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Mark Talbot who have been affected by this tragic incident.”

Detective Superintendent Amanda Mawhinney added: “I am aware that people in the community may feel shocked following this.

“We believe this to be an isolated incident and there is no wider threat to the public.”

She added: “We need the local community to help us understand what happened in the early hours of this morning. We are appealing for anyone who was in the area at around 3am and that saw or heard anything unusual to contact us as soon as possible.

“You may notice a higher police presence within the area today while we carry out our inquiries.”
