A 23-year-old in an age gap relationship has hit back at trolls that claim her beau is “old enough to be her dad”.

Amira Rajab admits that boyfriend Bryce Wood, 44, is “twice her age” but assures that she’s the “mature one” in the relationship.

The pair met organically a number of years ago and got engaged in July last year when Ms Rajab was aged 21.

The bodybuilder shares insights into her age gap relationship on social media – but this has opened the couple up to criticism.

She says that people think it’s “messed up” that she’s marrying someone twice her age, but she doesn’t care.

When questioned about why her man was “looking for someone so young”, the influencer bluntly responded: “He wasn’t.”

“Neither of us knew each other’s age when we met organically,” she said.

“I always think ‘awww’ but then think what’s wrong that he can’t find someone his own age?” one critic commented under a video of the couple.

“There’s always some kind of red flag with older men, trust me.”

“Remember that divorce is expensive,” another warned.

Others feared that Ms Rajab will “learn the hard way” about age gap relationships.

The pair live in Chicago, US together and are both fitness professionals.

While Ms Rajab competes in bodybuilding competitions and earns a living promoting clothing from fitness brands on social media, Bryce is a “body transformation coach”.

“I’m so proud of the work that both of us put in these past few months,” Amira posted on Instagram following a competition in the summer.

“I can’t wait to see where this journey takes us, but for now we celebrate and enjoy each other’s victories.

“I love you, Bryce.”

She landed third place in the bikini competition and was awarded $305.
