‘I bit into it ... it was hard and rubbery’: KFC customer claims he was served a deep fried rat
A STOMACH-turning photo of a deep fried rat allegedly served at KFC is causing all sorts of upset — but not everyone is swallowing it.
IS this a Kentucky Fried Rat?
A stomach-turning photo being shared on social media is causing all sorts of upset, but not everyone is swallowing it.
Fast-food fan Devorise Dixon posted the photo to Facebook on June 11, saying he had ordered a three-piece chicken tender meal from a KFC in Compton, California, but quickly realised something was amiss.
“I bit into it I noticed that it was very hard and rubbery which made me look at it. As I looked down at it I noticed that it was in a shape of a rat with a tail,” he claimed.
“It sent deep chills throughout my whole body! I’ve been feeling weird ever since. It’s time for a lawyer, be safe don’t eat fast food!”
Mr Dixon said he treturned to the store and claims he was told by an employee that it was in fact a rat.
But many online are sceptical. Some have found it hard to believe that an employee would mistake a rat for a piece of chicken.
Did a rat really fall into the deep fat fryer? Or is it just an oddly shaped piece of chicken? Or is the whole thing a hoax?
The fast-food company says there is no evidence to suggest the suspiciously shaped tender is a rodent, saying KFC had tried to contact Mr Dixon, but he was refusing to speak with representatives on the matter.
“KFC has made various attempts to contact this customer, but he is refusing to talk to us directly or through an lawyer,” the Mirror quotes a KFC rep as saying.
“Our chicken tenders often vary in size and shape, and we currently have no evidence to support this allegation.
“We have extended the opportunity to have an independent lab evaluate the product at our own expense, but the customer refuses to provide the product in question.”
