CHILLING CCTV footage has captured the moment a driver reversed her car off a bridge in China.

In the clip, dated April 12 and posted by China’s Global Television Network, the woman is seen being guided out of a parking space by a man in Anyue county, in China’s southeastern Sichuan province.

According top CGTN, the driver, who had only just passed her driver's test, slammed the accelerator instead of the brake, and she loses control of the vehicle, bashes through the barrier and disappears underneath the bridge.

The driver, and the passenger, were taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Road safety is a serious problem in China. Xinhua news agency said in 2012 that poorly maintained roads and bad driving habits result in about 70,000 deaths and 300,000 injuries a year.

CAR ALMOST FALLS ON MOTHER AND SON

A mother and her six-year-old son escaped death twice on February 12 after footage showed a black SUV knocking them off a bridge and almost falling on top of them.

According to the South China Morning Post, the mother and her child were walking along a bridge when the incident occurred in Chongqing, in southwestern China.

“I had nothing on my mind but my child. He is my only child,” the woman said.

The six-year-old was seriously injured while his mother suffered a fractured pelvis.

TODDLER FALLS OUT OF MOVING CAR

This is the horrifying moment a toddler fell out the back of a moving car in March last year — and the driver didn’t even notice.

The incident was filmed on the dashcam of the vehicle behind, whose passengers are heard yelling out the window.

The child can be see rolling out the back of the van onto the busy motorway after the vehicle’s boot shoots open while travelling on a road in Suzhou, eastern China.

After falling out the back of the car, the child is seen getting to his feet and chasing after his grandfather’s vehicle.

HOW DID THEY SURVIVE?

Dramatic video emerged of a car being hit by a landslide as floods and heavy rains engulfed China in 2013.

The footage shows the driver trying to get away from the deluge, but changing his mind when he realises what is happening.

Two men escaped from the car once the initial landslide eased and two others were rescued soon after, according to reports from Shaanxi province.

None of the car’s occupants suffered major injuries.
