Pet cam shocker: MP catches cow and horse chilling in loungeroom
A pet cam has revealed the moment two dogs became unlikely accomplices for farm animals up to no good.
A Northern Territory politician had to cut short his dinner on Sunday night after a quick check of his pet cam revealed his four-legged friends were up to no good.
Andrew Mackay, the Member for Goyder and Assistant Minister for Parks and Wildlife NT, spotted his two dogs prying open the lounge room door to get a sniff of life outdoors – leaving the way open for a cow and a horse to venture inside for a mozy around.
Mr Mackay posted the vision on his social media with a note to himself: “The dog can’t be trusted with door security.”
“Dinner finished early last night when I decided to check the pet cam to find Thunder figured out how to nuzzle open the door”, he wrote.
“Thankfully, all the pets were fine, but now the outside animals know what airconditioning feels like and will no doubt try it again.
It seems the shenanigans of the MP’s pets are not so unusual in the northern end of the country.
One commentator wrote: “We’ve all had a cow in the loungeroom”.
While another said: “Not me, only a shetland, a pony and an alpaca, as well as the usual dogs, cats and chooks. But never had a cow inside”.
It’s not the first time Mr Mackay has led his constituents into his home life.
As the threat of Cyclone Fina ramped up two weeks ago, Mr Mackay took to social media, encouraging his constituents to make an exception for their pets and livestock.
“If you haven’t already, now is the time to bring your feathered friends inside unless they have an appropriate shelter,” he said.
“They’d do the same for you!”
