A teacher has shared the seemingly common phrases they use to describe your child’s behaviour – and they actually mean your kid is naughty.

Sad moment US teacher quits in the middle of class

A teacher has revealed the “secret codes” they use to delicately tell you when your child is naughty – and what those seemingly common classroom phrases really mean.

The revelation was made on a social media account dedicated to sharing content from teachers around the world.

The account often shares humorous videos giving insight about what it’s really like to be a teacher – and some even share stories about their experiences in the classroom.

In the most recent video, posted to the @bored_teachers TikTok account, the “secret code” that teachers use to communicate with parents about their children – often via email – is laid completely bare, The New York Post reports.

“We have a code when we email parents,” the teacher in the video revealed.

She went on to explain the real meanings behind the commonly used phrases.

“When we use phrases like, ‘Your child is very social,’ that means they won’t stop talking,” she said.

She continued, explaining that if teachers say your child’s excitement is contagious, it means that they will “not calm down”.

To conclude, the teacher divulged, “If they’re a ‘natural born leader,’ your child is super bossy.”

The video has clearly resonated, clocking up almost 70,000 views. Many parents in the comments section also claimed they identified after being on the receiving end of the teacher’s code.

“100% can confirm,” one viewer commented.

Another agreed, writing: “So so accurate”

“‘Your son is going to make a great lawyer’ which is code for: your kid won’t stop arguing with me,” someone else joked.

However, others felt like the teacher should be more straightforward and tell parents what’s really going on.

“I take things literally,” one user typed. “I would not know this is code. just tell me like it is.”

One teacher criticised, “I’m a teacher and do not use these ‘codes.’ It’s not helpful to anyone to sugar coat an issue. I stick with facts and observations. Never had a problem with a parent relationship if I am direct but in a respectful and collaborative way.”
