Mother-of-two told by husband her outfit was ‘inappropriate’

A husband who called his wife’s outfit “inappropriate” has been slammed by women who argue “no man” should comment on your clothing.

A mother-of-two revealed her husband thought her outfit was inappropriate for the school run, prompting her to change.

Elaine Hampson posts the life of her, her husband Mikey and their two children to TikTok under the name @hampsonfamily.

She recently took to the popular social media app to reveal Mikey had deemed her outfit unsuitable to pick up one of her kids from school.

“I was going to pick up my kid from school and my husband told me this outfit was inappropriate,” she captioned the video.

She was wearing a light orange summer set, which featured a mini skirt and a crop top with off the shoulder milkmaid-style sleeves.

The top also featured a tie in the middle of the chest to give the wearer the option to wear it in a more figure-hugging manner.

After copping the criticism, Elaine changed into a full length black wrap dress with polka dots and long sleeves.

She said she wanted to see if her husband “approved” of this outfit change.

Elaine walked out into the kitchen, where her husband appeared to be working, and asked if he liked the outfit.

He turned to look at her, before turning his head and nodding while smiling.

Social media was torn, with many not seeing an issue with the first outfit Elaine had chosen to wear.

“No man tells me what to wear,” one person commented on the video.

Another said: “First one is best! I would have stayed in the first outfit.”

One said: “I’m the worst, I would have changed into a more skimpy one. Maybe that’s why I have two failed marriages.”

But others disagreed, slamming the outfit.

“She respects her husband’s opinion so she changed. Obviously she knew he would say something, that’s why the video was made.”

Another said: “I agree with the husband, there’s a time and place for the first one.”

A final comment read: “Your husband is right, dress your age.”
