Jessica Rowe’s disgusting find in daughter’s lunch box

The former Studio 10 presenter has shared disgusting find in her 14-year-old’s backpack – leaving many parents praising her for keeping it real.

The deadly dangers of a packed lunch

Jessica Rowe has shared the stomach-churning discovery she made in her daughter’s school backpack – and it’s something the majority of parents can relate to.

The former Studio 10 host is gearing up for her kids Allegra, 14, Giselle, 11, to return to school following the summer holidays and recently pulled out a backpack that had sat untouched since the last day in December.

But after looking inside, the 50-year-old made the most revolting find – a mouldy tupperware container filled with a foul black liquid.

“The joy of discovering the lunch box hasn’t been unpacked since last year!!” Jess captioned a snap of herself holding the gross container.

“Coupled with a day long search for new lunch boxes for bigger & more ‘grown up’ girls!”

Jess’ post quickly gathered attention from other parents who shared horror stories of their own.

“Found a bacon and cheese roll in my sons lunch box. Thought it was a mouldy old tennis ball,” one mum said.

“I found our lunch boxes trying to exit the building,” another joked.

“Ohh joy at least it wasn’t a mushed up banana. Still trying to remove the stench. Ugghhhh,” one woman declared.

While one mother had this nauseating lunch box disaster: “I once found a liquid tuna and mayo sandwich in my son’s lunch box … it didn’t last the whole holidays coz the smell located it a couple of weeks before … threw out the whole kit … and had to replace everything!!”

Others said the post had prompted them to check their kids’ backpacks while some asked Jess to reveal just what the mystery black liquid was to begin with.

Many thanked Jess for sharing, stating they “feel the pain” and that it made them feel less guilty for “only just cleaning out last year’s school bag”.

“Jess you truly make it real for all of us out there just trying to survive motherhood,” one said.

“Thankfully I’m not the only one who only just cleaned out last year’s school bag today,” another agreed.

The mum-of-two and self-confessed “crap housewife” explained she’d resolved the situation by heading to Kmart to buy new containers and lunch boxes, sharing a photo of the new bargain purchases.

Jessica had previously shared snaps of the family’s summer holiday on her Instagram, sharing a photo of herself enjoying the sunshine floating in her pool.

“Dreaming of being a mermaid … hope you’re staying cool too!” Jess wrote on Saturday.

In the snap the television personality was sporting a blue bikini as she relaxed on a matching blow-up mermaid tail.
