Jerry Seinfeld booed by anti-Israel protesters who walk out of his Duke commencement speech

Dozens of students have walked out of a university ceremony in protest of guest speaker Jerry Seinfeld and his support of Israel during the war in Gaza.

Dozens of students walked out of Duke University’s commencement ceremony on Sunday to protest guest speaker Jerry Seinfeld over his support of the State of Israel.

Video captured shows the walkout unfolding in real-time as Seinfeld takes to the stage to deliver his speech.

Around 30 of the 7000 students at Duke University in North Carolina participated in the staged walkout on May 12, chanting “free Palestine” and waving the Palestinian flag.

Several others were spotted joining in the walkout from the viewing stands.

Among the “boos” and calls to “free Palestine” other attendees among the crowd attempted to counter the protesters’ chant with their own in support of Seinfeld, saying: “Jerry! Jerry! Jerry!”

Since the orchestrated attacks on Israel by Hamas on October 7, which killed 1139 people and kidnapped 252 more, Seinfeld has been a vocal supporter of the state of Israel, including making a visit in December.

Israel’s calculated attacks on Palestine since October 7 have killed at least 35,034 Palestinians and injured 78,755 other people in the most recent count.

Seinfeld delivered his speech in full, never addressing Israel or Palestine, and received his honorary degree from Duke University.

“Find something where you love the good parts and don’t mind the bad parts too much, the torture you’re comfortable with,” Seinfeld said.

“This is the golden path to victory in life. Work. Exercise. Relationships.

“They all have a solid component of pure torture, and they are all 1000 per cent worth it.”

Seinfeld has faced protesters before as a result of his support for Israel.

In February, he was confronted by a group of pro-Palestine protesters in the Upper East Side of New York who called him a “genocide supporter.”

This staged walkout comes after weeks of pro-Palestine student protests on US college campuses across the country.

These student protests are demanding their colleges divest and end ties with the state of Israel in support of Palestine.
