They decided to try and defy the odds by having a baby together – despite their 37-year age gap.
And now it seems their dreams of starting their own family are on their way to becoming a reality.
In a video on TikTok, Cheryl, 63, explained that they found out around a week ago that their surrogate was pregnant, after she shared her positive pregnancy test, The Sun reported.
Quran McCain, 26, and Cheryl were then able to go to the doctors with their surrogate, where they saw their baby for the first time and even got to hear their heartbeat.
“We’re so excited, y’all,” Cheryl said, as she held up the positive test while husband Quran beamed from ear-to-ear while showing off the scan pictures.
“I can’t wait,” he gushed.
“I’m so happy. I’m gonna be a father! We got a family finally.”
“It’s finally happening – we’re starting our family!”
People were quick to comment on the video, with many expressing their shock that the pair were actually going to have a baby together.
“How is this possible?” one wrote.
“I cannot believe it,” another added.
“No way!” a third commented, with crying emojis.
“I don’t know what to say, except I hope things work out,” someone else added.
But others were more excited about the couple’s news.
“OMG Justin and Hailey Bieber, and now y’all!?” one exclaimed.
“I’m so happy, can’t wait to see your journey!”
“Congratulations!” another added.
“So happy for y’all and don’t listen to the haters, they are just jealous.”
The couple first met in 2012 when they worked at their local fast food restaurant Dairy Queen in Rome, Georgia.
The two lost contact for a while but reconnected in November 2020 when Quran ran into Cheryl while she was working as a cashier at a convenience store.
The pair began dating that year and quickly went viral on TikTok when they began posting videos about their love story and life together.
