Sexual assault, ‘kidnap’ at iconic London store
A young girl was allegedly snatched from outside the shop before being sexually assaulted, police say.
A man has been charged with kidnapping, drugging and sexually assaulting a child after a young girl was “snatched” from outside iconic London store Harrods.
The nine-year-old was missing for three hours before cops found her in the company of a 56-year-old man.
CCTV images seen by The Sun showed the girl walking with a man at 2.29pm Monday outside the famous store.
Robert Prussak, 56, has now been charged with kidnap, two counts of sexual assault and administering a substance with intention of stupefying or overpowering to enable sexual activity.
A police spokesperson said: “The charges relate to an incident involving a nine-year-old girl who was reported missing at Brompton Road, SW1 on Monday, April 22.
“Prussak was remanded in custody and appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court today.
“He was further remanded to appear at Isleworth Crown Court on 22 May.”
A Harrods spokesperson said: “We supported the Metropolitan police with an incident outside Harrods that has now thankfully been resolved.
“We cannot comment any further on the details as it is a police matter, but are thankful the Met Police’s swift actions led to this safe resolution.”
