A video of a young girl running to hug her dad during a welcome service for returning US soldiers has the internet fawning over little Karas.
The soldiers were in formation during the service after returning to Colorado from the Middle East but when the 3-year-old saw her dad in line, she couldn’t help herself.
“She was excited. She spotted me from a couple rows back and she couldn’t contain herself. I wasn’t gonna tell her no,” Daniel Oglesby told KKTV News.
The soldier didn’t hesitate to return the hug from his little girl and the crowd applauded as she ran back to her spot in the audience.
Mr Oglesby said seeing the looks on the faces of his family made everything that came before better.
“Being gone for eight months, it’s tough. But once you see the look on their faces when you get back makes it worth it,” he said.
The video of the touching moment has been picked up by numerous media outlets but the original footage posted to the KKTV News Facebook page has been watched over 800,000 times.
