Product Safety Australia recalls Romper & Co Bell Shaker toy over choking hazard

Aussie parents are being urged to check if they own a wooden baby toy, which as been recalled because it could be a choking risk.

Aussie parents are being urged to check their baby’s room after an urgent recall was issued for a wooden toy could be a choking risk.

Product Safety Australia warned the Bell Shaker toy, by Romper & Co, contains a bell inside that could come loose.

“The wooden frame can break which can dislodge the bell inside,” it warned.

“There is a risk of choking, suffocation or death to young children if they put the dislodged parts into their mouth.

The consumer watchdog urged consumers to stop using the toy immediately and keep out of reach of children.

The affected toy does not comply with mandatory standards for toys for children up to and including 36 months of age, the warning stated.

The wooden toy was sold both online and at several traders across Australia from December 27, 2020 to November 2, 2023.

Customers may return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
