New Year’s Eve parenting hack: a kid-friendly Netflix countdown to help parents celebrate in peace

NETFLIX has come up with a new way to relax and enjoy the festive season from today, letting users pop the bubbly in peace.

Now Christmas is over for another year, it’s time to ring in the New Year and there’s a clever way for parents to pop the bubbly in peace.

In what might be the best parenting hack of 2017, online streaming service Netflix has released an on-demand countdown service for kids on New Year’s Eve.

Instead of worrying about overtired kids trying to stay up to watch the fireworks, little ones can watch their favourite animation characters perform the exciting countdown to the New Year.

Kids can celebrate the New Year hours before midnight thanks to Netflix.

It can be played at any time, meaning kids can be tucked safely into bed, believing they’ve stayed up to celebrate the official countdown with the grown ups.

The Netflix countdowns feature characters from nine different popular kids’ animations such as True and The Rainbow Kingdom, Pororo, Larva, Word Party, Puffin Rock, Beat Bugs, Skylanders Academy, DreamWorks All Hail King Julien, DreamWorks Trollhunters, and each run for two to three minutes.

Launching on Boxing Day on Netflix, simply search “New Year’s Eve Countdown” or “Countdown” to find your ticket to a New Year’s Eve celebration without overtired tears and tantrums.
