Mum shares disgusting find inside daughter’s lunch box
A mum has shared the gross discovery she made inside the lunch box her daughter has been eating out of every day for two years.
An Aussie mum has shared her shock after discovering black mould inside her daughter’s Go Green lunch box that she’s eaten out of every day for two years.
While cleaning her daughter’s lunch box, mum Ashleigh took apart the different components and pulled out the silicone bands from the bento-box container.
It was then that she noticed something strange that caught her eye, Kidspot reports.

Holding back gagging, she said, “Yuck …” as she showed one of the silicone bands covered in black mould.
“I think the water must get trapped in there … gross,” she said in a viral TikTokvideo, continuing to pull apart other sections of the lunch box and revealing more mould-covered bands.
As she continues to pull apart all the sections, she urges parents of kids with similar lunch boxes to “clean them STAT”.
“I’m raising awareness to [take off the seals] every damn time you wash the lunch box.”
The video now has nearly 90,000 views and 3000 likes, with many of Ashleigh’s followers sharing their thoughts in the comments.
Some said that it’s “common sense” that you need to thoroughly clean these sorts of lunch boxes.
“Is this not common sense? For any airtight leakproof containers?” someone remarked.
“This is pretty obvious,” another said, while a third declared it was “utterly embarrassing” that Ashleigh had admitted to this. To which she replied: “I don’t get embarrassed easily.”
Another wrote, “B.box lunch boxes are so much easier to wash, I’ll never go back.”
Others expressed their surprise that the silicone bands were removable.
“Sh*t I’ll need to clean mine now,” one wrote.
“I’m grabbing my daughter’s today immediately after school,” another replied.
“I never even knew the seals came off! Checking tomorrow as soon as I am home,” another commented.
“When I tell you my jaw dropped.”
