Mum reveals 5 things she lets kids do ‘others may not agree with’

A mother-of-four revealed five things she lets her children do that she acknowledges other parents don’t do – including a very controversial rule.

When it comes to parenting, everyone has their own rules and techniques they use – and chances are, not everyone is going to agree with everything you choose to do.

One US mum-of-four understands this well after sharing five things she allows her kids to do she knows “others may not agree with”.

Casara, who runs a popular social media account with her partner Juan, revealed in a recent video

she has a “very open and honest relationship” with her kids, allowing them to do things other parents wouldn’t.

“Number one, our kids are allowed to swear. They know when they can swear, how they can swear and who they can swear around – and they’re allowed to swear,” she said in a TikTok video that has racked up 1.7 million views.

“If you think the worst thing your child can do is swear, then you have another thing coming.”

Moving onto number two, she explained that her teenager is allowed to contact them at any hour if they need to get picked up – even if they’ve been drinking.

“If my teenager is out drinking with friends and they call me and say, ‘hey mum, I need you to come and get me,’ I will get up and go and get them,” she said.

“And we will not talk about it until the next day.

“Let’s face it – peer pressure is real and people can’t learn unless they make mistakes or do something they’re not supposed to do.”

Casara goes on to say how her children also don’t have to “kiss you, hug you, or hang around you if they choose not to” – and she also shared her strong beliefs when it comes to higher education.

“We will not force our kids to go to college [university] if they don’t want to,” she explained.

“Let’s face it – nobody really knows what they want to do ever.”

Finally, Casara reveals that she teaches her kids at a young age what sex is, what their body parts are, and what drugs are.

“That way they know what the consequences are, what the actions are, what the positive to everything is and they don’t ever have to be ashamed of who they are,” she said.

“And nobody has to like this because these are my kids, they’re not your kids. I had four kids and all of them have turned out to be amazing.”

Following a huge social media response on the swearing topic, Casara shared a second video where she went into more detail.

“We allow our kids to swear – yes, but they don’t walk around our house swearing, effing this and doing that.

“As my husband said, who even deemed swear words swear words? Like who deemed them to be bad words?

“We swear and it originally started with if my son walked by and stubbed his toe he’d be like “s***”. They’re not walking around swearing up a storm.

“It’s just if they say a swear word or something, I’m not going to correct them!”

She captioned the post: “Don’t worry about what others think of YOUR parenting. You know what’s best for you and YOURS.”

Many agreed with Casara – while others said it wasn’t a good idea to let young people use expletives so casually.

“I don’t have kids but I agree with everything here,” one commented.

“I have so much respect for you and your family, I low-key wish you were my mum,” another said.

“I agree with most of this except the swearing,” one remarked.

As one argued: “Letting kids swear is not good, it’s not acceptable in the real world and could get them in trouble.
