Kmart baby leggings recalled due to choking hazard
A budget clothing item at Kmart has been urgently recalled over fears it could suffocate or cause choking in young children and babies.
Popular Kmart leggings for little ones have been recalled over fears babies and toddlers could choke or suffocate on the item.
The “Girls 2Pk Organic Roll Waist Leggings” with a roll waist in sizes from 00000 – 2 purchased between February 4 2020 and 3 July 3 2020 must be returned immediately to any Kmart store.
According to the Kmart website, the item was priced at $10.

WHAT ARE THE DEFECTS?
Concern has been flagged by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) as the leggings have two buttons sewn on each ankle, but the decorative detail that may become detached if pulled.
WHAT ARE THE HAZARDS?
If the buttons detach, they are a choking and suffocation hazard if ingested by young children.

WHAT SHOULD CONSUMERS DO?
Consumers should immediately cease using these products and return the products to any Kmart store for a full refund.

Kmart told shoppers in a Facebook post it takes “the quality and safety of our products very seriously” which was why the recall had been issued.
