This year’s Big W Toy Mania sale starts on Tuesday and parents have already been desperate to get their hands on a sought-after item.

It’s that time of year again, with Big W confirming its Toy Mania sale will kick off on June 15.

This year’s sale will feature more than 1000 toys discounted by up to 50 per cent and big name brands like Barbie, Bluey, Lego and Fisher Price.

Like last year, there will be no midnight in-store kick off for the sale, with things instead starting online at 7am on Tuesday, June 15.

The sale will continue in stores from Thursday, June 17.

“We know how much Aussies families look forward to Toy Mania and the ritual of sitting down and circling favourites with their kids, and this year we’ll have plenty to choose from when over 1000 toys go on sale,” Big W’s chief toy buyer Christine Faulkner said in a statement.

As well as in-store lay-by, Big W will also give customers the option to place items on lay-by via their website.

“By popular demand, online lay-by is returning for families wishing to buy now for Christmas, and for the first time customers will also be able to visualise big ticket outdoor toys in their space with augmented reality tools,” Ms Faulkner said.

While the catalogue won’t be released until next Monday, Big W has shared a teaser of what toys will be included in the sale.

One item that’s sure to be popular is the Bluey 4.5’ Trampoline which will go on sale for $129, $20 down from its normal price.

Prior to details of the sale being announced, parents in the Big W Mums In Australia Facebook group had already tipped the toy to be part of the sale, revealing they planned to make a beeline for the mini trampoline.

“I need this trampoline,” one mum wrote, while another said they planned to put it on lay-by.

Last year’s Toy Mania sale started online at midnight due to the coronavirus pandemic, with customers reporting hours-long virtual queues to get online and make their purchases.

Some shoppers who did manage to place their order when the sale started later woke up to emails saying their orders have been partially or completely cancelled.

A Big W spokesman told news.com.au at the time that most customers hadn’t experienced issues with their orders, but any that did were “swiftly resolved”.

Pre-2020 sales had seen “madness” when Big W stores opened at midnight, with videos posted to social media showing hordes of parents armed with empty trolleys, all eagerly waiting to be let in.
