Big W has dropped an extended range of plush animal ottomans for kids

Mums are losing their minds after Big W decided to sell an extended range of plush animal ottomans for kids, including a unicorn version.

When Big W released an elephant ottoman earlier this year, mums wasted no time rushing in store to nab one (or three) for their kids’ room.

That was about six months ago and now they’re losing their minds all over again after the Aussie department store announced its release of an entire collection of the plush-looking animal seats.

But mums aren’t the only ones going mad for the quirky, new stools.

After someone posted the four new versions — a sheep, pig, unicorn and dinosaur — in a Facebook group called Addicted to Bargains some people went as far as saying “these are so cute I wouldn’t even be mad if you threw one at me”.

Others tagged friends explaining why they needed to buy one.

“I think your new place needs this,” one wrote. “This is what we need for the office,” another posted.

Apart from the original elephant ottoman, which was a huge hit in the BIG W Mum Australia Facebook group, the dinosaur and unicorn are proving to be the most popular.

“Lucy the baby NEEDS the unicorn,” one person wrote on the Facebook post.

“I think Alana needs the unicorn one for her birthday,” another said.

Many went on to say how they missed out on the elephant version after it sold out in weeks, vowing not to make the same mistake again.

Monique Yallouris, BIG W category manager, told news.com.au that the new animals were selected after asking customers what they wanted to see next.

“The dinosaur, unicorn, sheep and pig came out on top and are already proving popular choices and selling fast in the lead up to Christmas,” Ms Yallouris said.

“The extended range, designed in-house, feature cosy and comfortable fabrics and finishes and will enhance any child’s bedroom or playroom.”

All ottomans are available to purchase online and in-store at select BIG W locations. Each are valued at $49.
