The tiny little compacts, which played house to a small bean sized doll, were one of the must-have toys for girls in the 90s.

Launching in 1989, the clam shaped toys came in multiple shapes and sizes, and were a hit with kids keen on playing in her teeny-tiny world.

They were designed by Chris Wiggs in 1983 for his daughter by using a powder compact to create a small house for the tiny doll.

Bluebird Toys loved the idea, and licensed the concept to sell the toys. But the original Polly Pockets were discontinued in 1998 when Mattel purchased the brand, and discontinued the compacts.
