An Australian mum’s account of refusing her husband morning sex has struck a chord with parents who have praised her for being so honest.

Mother-of-four Jessica Hood, a blogger from Bacchus Marsh in Victoria dedicated to sharing the “raw-relatable” side of motherhood on social media, posted on Instagram the reality of weekend mornings in her house.

Sharing a photo of herself in her pyjamas with bed hair and no make-up, Ms Hood wrote that for any mums “not feeling themselves today. This is how I woke up this morning.”

“My eyes are sticky, my hair is messy, my breath smells like death, I feel like I’ve only slept 10 mins and my stomach isn’t flatter in fact it looks the same as before I went to bed,” she explained. “So here is your realistic image of a mum waking up on a Sunday morning.”

Adding to this, Ms Hood said she could hear her kids “fighting on the other side of the door demanding food and youtube”.

“My husband is wanting morning sex and I just wanna stuff my face with crispy bacon while scroll my news feed,” Ms Hood wrote.

Despite the less-than-perfect picture it painted, Ms Hood said she was committed to sharing her “normal daily life”, which wasn’t often showcased by others on Instagram.

“I’m not gonna come on here and promote something I don’t believe in. This is me, this is my life and my body. This is my every day,” she wrote.

“What I will promote is how I got this awesome figure of my mine. I got pregnant 4 times and birthed 4 incredible humans that stretched the sh*t out of my body and made me crave quarter pounders and chocolate cake.

“It’s pretty amazing and to think I was born into this world a blank canvas and now it’s filled with blemishes and marks showing just how much I loved and lived!”

Ms Hood’s honest account of her morning struck a chord with other mums who praised her for being so candid.

“Definitely needed to see this today,” one woman wrote, while another added: “There’s a lot to be said for being happy with ‘real’, love the way you describe your body because that’s how all us mummies should feel. We are here for a short time, enjoy it whilst you can. Enjoy that bacon hun, well deserved.”

“Thank you. I needed to read this. I’ve got two special needs kids and have fallen behind on the fitness/good eating thing … I feel crap about myself but … my kids are happy in their own ways. My husband is happy in his way. We have a roof over our heads and food on the table. A timely reminder to be kinder to ourselves,” another commented.

Ms Hood said she was over the moon with how her post had resonated with other mums and dads.

“I am really surprised at the reaction it’s gotten but also I’m extremely happy as this is something I’m really big on, showing the real, raw unedited side to social media and motherhood,” she told news.com.au.

“That’s what my page is about and I’ve built a wonderful community surrounding this.

I’ve had many women, mums and even men contact me in regards to the post. I’ve had a lot of wonderful comments, and I’m really happy they can relate.”
