A recall of the popular Tommee Tippee Super Soft Child Comforters was instigated by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) on August 12.
“In the event that a child takes the whole comforter into their mouth, the shield and teat size combination may allow the comforter to get positioned in the back of the mouth,” the ACCC released in a statement. “If the comforter is taken into the back of the mouth in a certain position, it may pose a risk of choking.”
The dummies causing concern were sold in packs of three at Coles, Woolworths, Big W and many pharmacies nationwide between 1 May — June 2016, and are marked with SKU 270145, and one of the following batch codes: 09116JC, 08516JC, or 12316JC.
Parents have been told to stop using the product immediately. Refunds are available at the Tommee Tippee website.
