Kayla Itsines announces birth of second child with intimate snap
Australian fitness star Kayla Itsines has announced the arrival of her second child with an intimate photo taken in the delivery room.
Kayla Itsines has introduced her second child to her millions of followers, a baby boy named Jax.
The fitness queen announced she was expecting her first child with fiancé Jae Woodroffe just a week after revealing the pair were engaged in July 2022.
Her son joins Kayla’s three-year-old daughter Arna Leia Pearce, who she shares with ex fiance Tobi Pearce.
The pair announced their split in August 2020 after eight years together. A year later the former couple sold their global health and fitness app, SWEAT, to a US-based company for $400 million.
Kayla, 31, has marked Jax’s arrival with a string of adorable photos, including an intimate snap from the delivery room.
“Words absolutely cannot describe this feeling. We are SO HAPPY RIGHT NOW,” she wrote on Instagram.
“We went into hospital around 6:30am on the 5th of January. He was out in the world by 8:45am weighing 3.5kgs.”
“The most amazing thing, as he was coming out, out of nowhere on a completely random playlist the hospital was playing, Jae’s dads funeral song started playing over the speakers,” she continued.
“I heard Jae say at the same time ‘It’s a boy!!!!!’.
“I burst into tears, he burst into tears and we got to meet our baby BOY Jax Stokes Woodroffe.”
Friends and fans have been quick to congratulate the couple, who first went public with their relationship in January last year.
“Congratulations to the both of you, ️welcome to the world Jax,” one wrote.
“Omgggg I’m not crying you are, he is the cutest!!! SO HAPPY for you both!” another said.
“Congratulations my love. So happy for you all. He is gorgeous,” someone else added.
In the comments section, Kayla revealed well-known psychic, Fotini, had predicted the couple would welcome a boy, writing: “You were RIGHT… again.”
Kayla shot to fame as a fitness influencer, notably creating the SWEAT app as a result of her online success.
The app has been downloaded more than 30 million times and generated $99.5 million in revenue in 2020 alone, The Australian Financial Review previously reported.
She still remains a trainer on the app, remarking it was “crazy to think how far we have come and how big the Sweat family is now” during the brand’s takeover.
