James Van Der Beek gives awkward interview about 'Dawson's Creek'

A DAY after announcing he welcomed his fifth child to the world, James Van Der Beek has shared intimate details of his wife Kimberly’s home birth. And warning: it’s a little graphic.

In an Instagram post titled ‘The Category is: Home-Birth Realness’, the Dawson’s Creek star shared a picture just seconds after his daughter Gwendolyn was born — with the placenta still attached to bub.

“Word of caution, if you’re squeamish, just double-tap and move on,” he warned.

“Messy bed … Plastic sheeting underneath old sheets … Old towel crumpled on the floor … Vomit bag (unused) … Inflatable birthing tub (also unused ) … Shirtless Dad … Boy in Spider-Man pyjamas … Happy, healthy baby … Happy, healthy Mum in her own shower right after giving birth … Water bottle … And … placenta in a mixing bowl … (I warned you)”

While the pic is definitely not for the squeamish, fans were lapping up the raw image and details.

“Real life. None of that photoshop BS,” one fan commented.

“There’s nothing I DONT love about this! #allthefeels,” added another.

But there were a few fans who found it a little confronting.

“I’m newly pregnant with my first so… thanks for sharing… and heightening my scaredness lol but very sweet. Congrats!” one fan shared.

IT’S GOING TO BE BUSY IN THE VAN DER BEEK HOME

The doting dad and hubby, 41, announced the arrival of their fifth bub in a touching post to celebrate Father’s Day in the United States.

“Thrilled to announce we welcomed a brand new baby girl into the world Friday morning, just in time for #FathersDay,” he wrote.

But the post soon turned political as the star used the birth of his newborn to highlight the issue of children being taking from their parents as they attempted to seek asylum both legally and illegally.

“These last few days, as I’ve enjoyed the privilege of making smoothies I know my older kids will like, making my wife red raspberry leaf tea to ease her uterine contractions, spending ‘boy time’ with my son and getting my two year-old down for a nap in the way only I know how … I’ve been heart sick about something. As I write this, kids are being ripped from the arms of their parents,” he shared.

The passionate dad ended his news with a touching message for his wife.

“You’re a f***ing earth goddess rock star and I’m as in awe of you as I am in love with you,” he said.

Yes, after five kids (in fact even one!), she certainly is!
