Influencer reveals list of bizarre baby names she almost used

A Sydney-based influencer has revealed the top names she was going to call her third child before settling on the name Soul.

An Aussie influencer has the last laugh over backlash to her potential baby name list, which she revealed after giving birth to her third child.

Indy Clinton revealed several names she and her husband were considering ahead of the birth of their third child, who they eventually called Soul.

But after detailing that Dingo, Hawk and Heart were all possibilities, fans lost their cool, claiming the names were “weird”.

Indy has since told news.com.au that not all of the suggestions on the least were completely serious.

“Maybe for a pet,” she said.

In the video, Indy detailed a long list of names the couple talked about in the lead up to Soul’s birth.

“My top name, if she wasn’t going to be called Soul, I wanted her to be Cherub. Ben wanted her to be called Dingo if she was a boy,” she said.

“I was like ‘we are not calling her Dingo’ but he wanted it so it would go with Bambi.”

In the end, the pair both cancelled out each other’s favourite names, with Indy adding her pick if Soul was a boy was Hawk while Ben wanted to call the newborn Dove instead of Soul.

“I couldn’t get past the soap [brand],” she said, referring to the hygiene brand of the same name.

Indy really wanted to have twin boys and call them Alpha and Junior, but that also didn’t come to pass.

There was also a H theme with Heart, Haze and Halo also all making the list of potential baby names.

Shiloh was also a contender but Indy felt it didn’t match with Navy and Bambi.

Social media users had strong reactions to Indy’s list of baby names, with some being called cute and others being slammed.

“Cherub is weird ngl but you do you,” one social media user commented on the clip.

Another said: “Love the bold unique names people are so closed minded!”

“The fact that I used to be called “cherub” in college is crazzzzzy. Now it’s a NAME,” another said, adding the skull emoji to their comment.

“Imagine being a twin and the others name is Alpha,” one social media user pointed out.

Another demanded to know; “Are you naming humans that will be adults one day? Or kittens?”

“Alpha and Junior would've caused so much chaos between two boys, that’s legit like saying big dog and little dog,” another said.

One said they would be saving the name Cherub despite only being 21.

“Shiloh is my daughter's name. I can’t lie there’s a lot of dogs in movies called Shiloh I’ve come across since having her,” another said.

One social media user added: “Dove and Halo so cute.”
