Crack open the Dom, the NSW Premier is having another child.

Dominic Perrottet revealed on Sunday night he and wife Helen are expecting their seventh child — and the news was met with good-natured ribbing by much of the country.

When asked about it in Monday’s press conference, Mr Perrottet told reporters: “if anyone has a second-hand mini-van they want to sell, please contact my office”.

Here’s some of the best reactions.

Mel Kerr: “For the love of God, someone give these poor people a television!”

Justin Conlin: “He should change his name from Dom to Con-Dom.”

Tamara McFarlane: “I no longer wonder why he looks older than his 39 years.”

Matthew Ceddia: “He would need 2 taragos just to take the family to nonnas.”

Ernesto Yulla: “He’s guaranteed 7 future votes.”

Mike Lazarus: “He may be a Liberal leader but his wife has always been in Labour.”

Steven Bonello: “He’s gunning for the 12 disciples.”

Glen Bissaker: “Sweet Jesus. no wonder he changed the rules from 10 people in a home to 20. There’s already 9 of them in the house!”

Mr Perrottet, 39, revealed the news on Facebook. It will be the couple’s sixth daughter. They already have five daughters, Charlotte, Amelia, Annabelle, Harriet and Beatrice. They also have a son, William.

“Exciting family news,’’ he wrote.

“Our family photo wall is going to need another frame! Helen and I are thrilled to announce we have a little girl due next year.”

The state’s youngest ever Premier was himself brought up in a family of 12 children, admitting he grew up changing nappies and helping his mother. A 13th sibling died at birth.

Mr Perrottet entered parliament a decade ago when he was still in his twenties. In his maiden speech he paid tribute to his own mother and his wife, Helen and what he had learned growing up in a big family.

“I had the privilege of growing up in a large family. I am the third of 12 children. As you may imagine, my mother ran a very tight ship,’’ he said.

“But with so many of us around, she realised very quickly she could not get everything done by herself. I polished 12 pairs of shoes in summer. I packed 12 lunches in autumn. I changed 1200 nappies in winter and then changed them again in spring.”
