Mum transforms Kmart dollhouse into epic Wednesday Addams theme
Mum-of-two Clarissa was on the hunt for the perfect dollhouse for her quirky daughter.
Mum-of-two Clarissa always knew her daughter was a little quirky - an "individual" who is "confident in her choices" as she puts it.
So it came as no surprise to her that, like many pre-teens and teens out there, her little one was drawn to Netflix series Wednesday.
"She has always loved the characters in movies that aren’t always the favourite or perfect," the mum tells Kidspot exclusively.
"She is obsessed with creepy things. She has living dead dolls, Chucky, Annabelle - she has never seen the movies but thinks they look adorable."

Dollhouse hack every Wednesday fan will love
With that obsession came the request to add a dollhouse to her toy collection. But it couldn't be any colourful dollhouse. It needed a gothic vibe to match her love for Wednesday.
After plenty of searching, Clarissa realised that getting her hands on the perfect house for her daughter wasn't going to be easy.
"We couldn’t find anything, I saw a hack on one of the Kmart pages where the dollhouse was turned into a more boyish-looking house and the idea was born from there," Clarissa says.
Clarissa purchased the Kmart dollhouse and in a joint effort with her husband, began to transform the toy into a gothic, haunted dreamhouse.
"My husband put a primer on it and then a couple of coats of matte black spray paint and then a matte clear on it so it wouldn’t come away with play," Clarissa shares.
With the help of some acrylic paint, the mum created some broken floorboards and got started on the iconic stained glass window found in Wednesday's bedroom in the series.
"With the lights, they are the short copper wire lights from the party section," she added.

A cheap and unique gift
The end result was perfect, complete with a hand sitting on the roof - a nod to the character Thing.
Clarissa was thrilled with the result and equally thrilled that it didn't cost a bomb with most of the supplies coming from Kmart.
"The dollhouse was $99 and all the extras were about $100-$150," Clarissa shares.
Proud of her efforts, the mum shared her hack on the Kmart Hacks & Decor Facebook group and was pleasantly surprised by the support she received.
"The reaction has absolutely blown me away. It was just something my husband and I did for our girl, who loves something we couldn’t find," she says.
