I stormed out of the house when they fed my 4mo... they think I'm overreacting

"My husband shouted ‘no’ as he ran into the kitchen and tried to get it out of her mouth. I feel like a precious moment had been taken away from us... just for the expense of someone's laughter," Katie fumes in the video.

When Katie took her four-month-old baby Aria to her loved one’s home, she didn’t expect to storm out and never speak to them again.

Her family has since told her that she was in the wrong, and now she "needs to rant about it.”

In a TikTok video, the British mum explained that she was visiting a friend with her husband and four-month-old baby

“I stormed out of the house and haven’t spoken to this person since”

She was standing in the kitchen, and her husband was in the living room.

"Somebody was holding our baby and decided to feed her chocolate cake," she explained.

“He shouted ‘no’, ran into the kitchen, and I learned of the news as he was trying to get it out of her mouth.

“Anyway, I grabbed my baby, stormed out of the house, and haven't spoken to this person since.”

“A precious moment with our baby has been taken from us”

At this point, Aria hadn’t started weaning yet, and the only solid food she had eaten was a piece of watermelon.

“The reason I'm so mad about it is because I felt like a precious moment had been taken away from us, and just for the expense of, like, someone's laughter,” she continued.

“On top of that, chocolate cake has, like, sugar, dairy, caffeine, all these things in it that I want to control with my baby.”

She further clarified that it is her and her husband’s decision to set boundaries for their baby’s diet.

“Nobody should overstep that,” Katie insisted.

“I don’t get why people love to put things in babies’ mouths”

Since the incident, Katie was told that “it wasn’t a big deal” and that she was “overreacting” by her friends and family.

She revealed that this isn’t the first time it’s happened, and she is sick of clarifying her boundaries.

“I don’t get why people love to put things in babies’ mouths!” she exclaimed on TikTok.

A flurry of comments came in supporting her decision to protect her baby’s diet.

“I’d be the exact same,” admitted a viewer. “Bang out of order! I would be fuming!”

Others said they would be “livid” if they were in the same situation, with most commenters backing the mother up and hoping the friend apologised for their actions.

“What if the baby has any allergies?" pointed out an insightful viewer.

“This is absolutely crossing a boundary,” commented another. “Stand your ground!”
