‘How can you live like that’: Woman slammed for gross air fryer habit

In the TikTok the woman showed how she got her appliance sparkling clean, but people were shocked at how filthy it was in the first place.

Woman's TikTok of no-scrub air fryer clean

A woman has shared the sparkling results after she cleaned her air fryer with a mixture of dishwashing liquid, vinegar, bi-carb soda and boiling water, and while they are indeed impressive, followers noticed a more serious problem.

Rhianne shared the video to TikTok, marvelling at how clean the appliance was after her special concoction.

But thousands of people flooded the comments questioning the 26-year-old’s hygiene practices.

Rhianne admitted that she used her air fryer daily, but didn’t even rinse out the drawers before reusing it.

She said it might be “disgusting” as she pulled out the drawers, and that she always dreaded the clean.

“I clean mine after every use – when did we start living like this,” one shocked person wrote.

“Am I the only one who cleans it every time I use it,” agreed another person.

“It takes two seconds to wash,” said a third. “Why would you want new food on top of old? Ew.”

Woman shares how to clean air fryer

In the video, Rhianne dismantled her appliance, narrating as she went.

“It’s time for the dreaded air fryer clean,” she began.

“This has not been cleaned in a while and it needs some TLC,” she continued.

Pulling out the drawer, she showed off caked-on grime and food chunks that, as followers pointed out, wouldn’t have been there if she just cleaned it more regularly than once a week.

Bi-carb soda was the first ingredient, sprinkled onto the drawers. She then added dishwashing liquid.

Vinegar was sprayed on next, followed by a kettleful of boiling water that filled each drawer.

That’s where the magic happened. Rhianne walked away and let the appliance soak for a few minutes. No scrubbing, just waiting.

When she came back, she poured the oily brown liquid into the sink and hey presto, the drawers were perfectly clean.

“Oh my gosh,” she said.

People grossed out over dirty air fryer

Grossed out commenters overwhelmed the comments section.

"POV: You're just finding out not everyone cleans their air fryer every time they use it," one shocked person shared.

"Like pots, you wash them every time after cooking," said another.

But not everyone was disgusted by Rhianne’s revelation that she only cleans her air fryer once a week.

Many liked the low-maintenance approach, and the recipe for a soak that means no scrubbing.

“Mine usually go in the dishwasher after every use – but this works great too!” one person said.

Other’s had their own minimalist techniques for getting their air fryers clean.

“Literally soap and water then turn on air fryer for eight minutes. Give it a shake, tip the water away and it’s job done,” said one person.
