Woman’s tea bag cleaning hack stuns social media users

A woman has stunned social media users after revealing the cheap and simple drinking item that got her microwave looking as good as new.

A woman has revealed how a cheap tea bag trick made her microwave look brand new.

The homeowner from Greater Manchester in the UK took to the Facebook group, Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips to share her clever cleaning hack, leaving social media users stunned.

The woman shared before and after snaps of her glass microwave door with the caption “Glass cleaner vs tea!”

The first image of the door showed smear marks on it with the woman claiming it was a result of using an everyday window product. However the second image shows the kitchen appliance looking crystal clear after the woman said she cleaned it using a tea bag.

After curious Facebook members bombarded her post asking how she did it, the woman revealed it was just a matter of boiling hot water, waiting for it to cool and dropping the tea bag in it.

“One tea bag in a mug of boiling water, left until the water was cold (I was cleaning my oven at the time, so I actually forgot about the tea),” she explained.

“Then I dipped the corner of my kitchen roll into the tea and wiped it over the microwave,’ she said.

“I didn’t buff it dry, it looked streaky to begin with but dried streak free!

“I’ve used tea to clean my mirrors, glass table and stainless steel hob. Thanks for all the love.”

It inspired many social media users to give the hack a go try — and they were impressed.

“It’s amazing I have been up all night cleaning anything I could get my hands on,” one enthusiastic member wrote.

“Even my engagement ring! This is going to do a lot of harm to a lot of BIG business. My mirrors and windows are looking good,” another excited user commented.

Others were in the middle of preparing the cheap hack.

“I’ve got a jug of tea brewing and an empty spray bottle ready to go crazy with,” another woman wrote.

A second added: “Must try this,”, while a third explained her experience.

“I rubbed a used tea bag still damp on my mirrored microwave door and it came up lovely once I buffed it.”

”What sort of witchcraft is this? Excellent result!” a fourth person joked.

It comes after another women recently revealed how she removed mould in her bathroom using a cheap $2 item.

Posting to the Facebook group Cleaning Tips & Tricks :) the British woman explained how she used cotton wool which will set you back just a few dollars and bleach to get her tub looking brand new again.

The before and after photos show a thick layer of black mould in the corners of the wall behind her tub.

After taking tips from members of the group who advised she soak cotton wool in bleach and leave it overnight, the woman was shocked to discover it actually worked.

She later revealed she soaked wool into bleach and left it overnight to remove the mould and to her shock, it worked.

Her original post immediately generated hundreds of comments from cleaning fans sharing their tips.

“Bleach will dye it back to white. Distilled vinegar will kill the roots of the mould, spray it with vinegar after every shower and bleach it overnight until it goes,” one woman commented.

“Kitchen roll soaked in raw bleach then scruple it up and stick it on, that’s the best way I’ve found to do mine,” another commented.

The woman then shared after images of the mould-free looking tub, with an update to her original status that read: “Thank you to everyone who has commented!!!! I used cotton wool and bleach and have attached photos of the results. Wow! Thank you!
