A 10-year-old boy has been rushed to hospital after he was attacked by a dog.

A young boy has been rushed to hospital after a dog attack in South Australia.

Police and paramedics were called to a home on Lohmann St in Murray Bridge, about 80km east of Adelaide, after hearing reports a dog had bitten a child.

A 10-year-old boy was then taken to Murray Bridge Hospital by ambulance.

He is in a stable condition and his injuries are not considered serious according to South Australian police.

The dog was seized by Murray Bridge Council, with the Advertiser reporting it was a family dog and that the incident occurred at a family property.

Council is now conducting an investigation into the incident.

It’s unknown whether the dog will be put down.
