An Australian woman has captured her own scream of horror after her cat suddenly flung a huntsman spider at her face.

The moment was caught while filming her pet clawing repeatedly at the spider, which had backed up against a skirting board in an attempt to escape the animal’s clutches.

But her amusement quickly turned sour when the cat suddenly flicked the spider off the carpet and into her face with its paw.

Oblivious to its owner’s high-pitched scream, the cat continued to paw at the spider on the staircase.

“My cat was playing with a spider then she threw it on my face,” the woman wrote, sharing the clip to TikTok.

Viewers quickly joked that the cat had clearly had enough of playing with the spider on its own and wanted the woman to join in.

“The cat said ‘I’m done playing now it’s your turn’,” wrote one.

“‘Okay your turn’,” quipped another.

Others sympathised the woman, congratulating her on keeping her cool in a situation where they said they wouldn’t be able to do the same.

“I would need therapy after that,” one said.

“You did well not to fall down those stairs. I would have ended up hitting the bottom face first,” another added.
