Get ready, Aldi’s iconic pet collection is back
If you ever needed an excuse to go out and buy a sausage dog, it’s this. Aldi has just teased us with its new pet collection, and it’s cuteness overload.
Aldi has simultaneously melted hearts and flooded tear ducts across the nation after it announced the most adorable product launch today.
The supermarket chain declared it will bring back its beloved pets collection, the Pampered Pets Special Buys, and the internet has entirely lost its marbles.
From Wednesday next week, Aldi stores across the country will release the most adorable wardrobe pieces and accessories for your fur friends, and we have an exclusive look at all the best bits.
Aldi Australia buying director Shane Aitken said the supermarket chain had decided to bring back the range of pet accessories after noticing a growing demand from customers for things to spoil their floofs with.
“We are seeing more owners wanting to treat their pets with stylish and fun accessories,” he
said.
“We’ve recognised this and have created an on-trend pet range that allows owners to splurge without having to spend enormous amounts of money.”
News of the release has, naturally, rocked the nation, with people arguing over which pet will get what, and how many hours they are prepared to line up just to get inside an Aldi store.
“This is not a drill, can you please buy this for Hector,” one woman asked her friend.
Another woman claimed: “Aldi does the impossible and peaks even more.”
POOCH COUCH
This is a crowd favourite and probably on the top of everyone’s list.
The re-release of the Aldi pooch couch has cause a major stir online, with people dedicating the next week of their lives to figuring out the best way to beat the queue.
Adele Chaffey wondered out loud if the couch “comes with a sausage dog”.
We can only hope, Adele.
But if this little set-up doesn’t make you want to go out and buy a dog, or have a small child just to sit it on this couch, than we don’t know how to help you.
PET TEEPEE
To the person who said teepees are only for music festivals, western movies and children’s parties, you’re wrong.
This adorable teepee costs $17.99 and comes with a “reversible printed cover and a removable matching cushion which is machine washable”.
THROW BLANKIE
As we approach the cooler months, why not try wrapping your pet up in one of these things, just like a burrito?
They may bite you, and we take no responsibility for that — it was just a suggestion.
Regardless, this beautiful microplush bone blanket is just ten bucks.
It’s available in four colours. Oh, Aldi, how you like to spoil us.
DOG JACKET
Step out in style with this zigzag jacket for just $4.99.
Seriously, that’s it. That’s all it costs to dress your dog up like a perfect little gentleman.
Sigh. Heavenly.
As a side note, in the middle of all this Aldi mayhem today, the internet has revealed some incredible Aussie pet names, including VB, Queen Daisy, Nox, Biscuit, Barley and Pepper.
PET GROOMING
For another $7, you can make a bee line straight from the RSPCA, where you picked up your new pet after reading this story, into your nearest Aldi and home with a bag of cool new gear.
Like this grooming glove, that picks the fur straight off your pet’s back, but makes them feel like they’re in a little spa for pets!
Like a Shiatsu massage for your Shih Tzu.
The collection also features nail clippers, brushes and shampoo dispensers.
PET ACCESSORIES
Well, hello. Who’s this brand new handsome pet you have?
Oh, it’s just your regular old pet, teamed with an amazing new collar and leash?
Cool!
This collar and leash set costs just $4.99.
PET TOYS
The collection is filled with brightly coloured toys that will likely be destroyed in seconds, but are still worth checking out.
For just $3.99 you can grab your pet some spiky balls, a soft toy elephant and even this hot pink ball that resembles a grenade.
