Sydney’s Centennial Park was picture perfect yesterday, resplendent with plants and flowers of all varieties in readiness for today’s opening day of the show.
ABC gardening guru Costa Georgiadis is one of a galaxy of celebrity green thumbs who have lent their talents to more than 30 display gardens.
Renowned Chelsea Flower Show judge Andrew Fisher Tomlin, legendary Aussie gardener Don Burke, Angus Stewart, Indira Naidoo, Graham Ross and Joe Snell are also taking part in the show, sponsored by The Daily Telegraph.
“I grew up in this park, so it has always been a magical place for me from childhood to today,’’ Georgiadis said. “What’s great about the show is that it’s got something for everyone, including children, our next generation of budding gardeners and educated nurturers of our planet.”
Kids under 15 get free entry to this year’s show, which runs until Sunday.
