Neighbours left disgusted over front yard overrun by garbage
Neighbours have been left fuming over a homeowner’s colossal junk pile in their front yard.
Neighbours have been left fuming over a homeowner’s colossal junk pile in their front yard.
For more than a year junk has been piling up outside the home in Huntfield Heights, Adelaide.
Fridges, Christmas decorations, a massage chair, tools and clothing are among the items that covered every inch of the grass.
The junk pile was getting so bad it had begun building up on a nature strip.
On Monday, police and Onkaparinga Council officers entered the property and began to remove the rubbish, according to 7News.
It came after neighbours raised concerns.
“It’s just an absolute s*** tip resident,” Jason Wrigley said.
“There’s a real menagerie of junk.
“It’s a disgrace, it’s a health issue and a fire hazard.”
And while many residents were pleased to see action being taken to clean up the mess, neighbour Ray Lovell said he feared it would build up again.
According to the broadcaster the owner had planned to sell some of the items online and was unable to meet the council’s demands to remove the rubbish because of a disability.
The clean up is expected to take four days.
