Not quite the White House, but here’s where Hillary Clinton will call home
FOLLOWING Hillary’s shock presidential defeat, the Clinton’s will now likely move in and settle down at their stunning new New York home.
FOLLOWING Hillary Clinton’s shock presidential defeat to Republican Donald Trump, everyone is asking what she will do next?
While her political future is unclear, reports indicate she will be settling in at her recently purchased New York home, with husband Bill.
The property, which they purchased earlier this year for AU$1.5 million, sits next door to another property the couple own in Chappaqua, New York — creating a small compound for the family.
The three-bedroom, 337-square-metre, ranch-style home is set on 1.51 leafy acres on Old House Lane in Chappaqua.
In September, a source close to the Clinton’s told the New York Post that the newly acquired home may be used as a holiday house for their daughter Chelsea, her husband Marc and their two children Charlotte and Aiden.
“Rumour has it that the Clintons plan to use this as a mother/daughter house for Chelsea and her kids to visit on the weekends when they want to escape the city and their Flatiron digs since the Chappaqua house has a nice pool and plenty of rolling green lawn for kids to play on,” the source said.
With pecan wood floors throughout, the kitchen opens to an eating area with a fireplace and family room. It also boasts a 20-square-metre basement.
The property was previously owned by architect Charles Chepigin.
While it is unclear what Hillary will do since losing the election, the Sun report that insiders believe “she’s now simply too old, and too controversial, to mount another Presidential campaign”.
But Ms Clinton is still “elder statesman” in the Democratic Party, and of course she has the Clinton Foundation — which ensures that she and her family will remain in the public sphere with their charity work.
