Kmart to start selling budget white goods online

Just when you thought Kmart couldn’t get any better, out it comes with a whole new affordable range that’s already got shoppers excited.

The popular retailer has moved into new territory making it a one-stop-shop for all things fashion, home decorating – and now white goods.

The large appliances range, which include fridges and dryers, is a new online offering, having launched just last week.

The products are currently only available to customers in NSW, Queensland, Victoria, Western Australia and South Australia.

“The new white goods range was seen as a gap in the market for us to service in this way and provide our customers with everything they need at the lowest prices,” a Kmart spokesperson told news.com.au.

“The products have all received a really positive reception since launching, with customers responding well across all categories.”

Prices start from $249 and are subject to availability.

Kmart shoppers have already taken to social media to express their excitement over the new Anko line.

“I need a washing machine asap, been looking for a cheap alternative,” one customer wrote on online.

“That’s awesome! I really need a dryer,” another added.

However, some were concerned about the line’s energy rating.

“Don’t get sucked in. Cheap now and a massive bill later. The energy rating is atrocious,” one person wrote on Facebook.
“You’re better off investing in a better quality appliance upfront. If you care about your energy bill or the environment they aren’t the best purchases.”

What’s on offer

For those keen to give the affordable range a go, there’s plenty on offer.

All products are marked for delivery only and come within a 24-month warranty and in-home repair.

The cheapest from the new Anko line is a $249, 4.5kg vented dryer.

It has three drying options and comes in handy for smaller laundries, at 70cm high and 60cm wide.

The dryer also comes with adjustable levelling legs for easier placement, and with its wall-mounted design, you can maximise your floor space.

At $349, customers can nab a 5.5kg top load washing machine that features eight preset washing cycles and an LED display and a clear glass lid.

The machine also offers a “memory” feature allowing the machine to continue washing following an electrical power outage.

It also has the ability to check the extent of dirt and grease on clothes and the amount of soap and water to add.

For those in need of a front-loader, Kmart has a 6kg one on offer for $399.

It has 15 preset washing functions as well as an extra rinse function and pre-wash function.

The LED screen displays alerts about the progress of each wash and offers safety features including a child lock and overheat protection. It also comes in 7.5kg for $439.

The retailer also has a 60cm freestanding dishwasher for $399 that has multiple features.

It offers a half-load option along with a delayed start and extra dry options.

And at $429, shoppers can get their hands on the 203-litre top mount fridge in white.

This temperature-controlled fridge features a reversible door, recessed handles and flexible storage options.

It also comes in silver for the slightly higher price of $449.
