Kmart fans are in a frenzy after discovering the perfect sparkly addition to living rooms and bedrooms across Australia.

The mirrored portable rechargeable lamp, $17, has left many keen to get their hands on one due to its retro design and ability to transform any space.

The trend began where all good things do, on TikTok, where Melbourne influencer Jenny Zhou showed off her recent find.

In her clip, she declared, “Another day, another Kmart slay,” while plugging in the lamp and admiring the light it emanated.

“I thought it would be really cute to have mushroom disco lamps on our dining table for dinner parties,” she added.

After unboxing it, she exclaimed in awe, “Oh my gosh, it’s so pretty. Look how shiny it is!”

Ms Zhou also tried out the lamp’s three brightness settings by tapping the side to create the desired ambience.

Commenters quickly joined in, with one saying, “I got one this week too, I’m obsessed!”

Another remarked, “They are so cool,” while a third chimed in, “I need these!”

According to the Kmart website, this budget-friendly lamp comes with a USB charging cable and measures 20 cm tall and 14 cm wide.

It features a warm white integrated LED bulb and is said to be portable and lightweight.

The lamp has also caught the attention of design enthusiasts such as Zoe Gilpin, a Perth-based interior decorator.

She also took to TikTok to rave about the rechargeable battery feature and the brightness-adjusting button.

Another fan, mum Amanda Talevski, unboxed the lamp in a video, calling it the “perfect addition to my daughter’s room!”

Lifestyle and interior design website Apartment Therapy notes that disco balls or disco-adjacent decor items can add a joyful and “smile-inducing” touch to your space.

The trend of incorporating disco elements into decor is popping up everywhere, from plant boxes to hanging mobiles, and of course, light fixtures.

“They add a whimsical and fun touch while also providing light,” the blog stated, calling it an “easy win” for creating an aesthetic home.

So, even if you’re not planning to blast the Bee Gees or ABBA at home, you might still want to jump on the disco trend in this budget-friendly way.

However, if you’re still unsure but want to get in on the fun light trend, Kmart recently launched another buzzy item: the $27 Smart Wi-Fi LED Sunset Light.

This product is 57 times cheaper than the most expensive versions available and creates a sunset light colour pattern in your room while paired with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.

Similar lamps are sold online for prices ranging from $95 to $1539, making the Kmart item a steal in comparison.

One satisfied customer shared, “I was a bit sceptical at first due to the low price, but I was pleasantly surprised. I now use this in my living room at night for a nice, chilled atmosphere.”
