Kmart designer bobble lamp dupe people are loving

One savvy Kmart DIY expert has revealed just how they made their own version of a very popular designer item that can cost up to $2300.

One savvy Kmart DIY expert has revealed just how they made their own version of a very popular designer item.

Bubble lamps can retail anywhere between $350 and $2300 but this shopper has done it using two $7 bubble pots from Kmart.

She revealed in total, with the lamp, light bulb, bases and shade, she spent $50.

Many were keen to know how to recreate the $7

Nicole Herrick runs a DIY channel on YouTube and said she simple stacked two of the pots on top of each other, using strong adhesive to glue them together.

She took a mini lamp stand, which can be purchased from places such as Bunnings and Ikea, and put it into the top pot.

Ms Herrick said people could paint the pots and use whatever lamp shade they would like, adding people should put felt on the bottom of the lamp so it doesn’t scratch the surface it is placed on.

She shared her results – having painted the lamp base black, adding a gold accent and a textured lamp shade, to a popular Kmart Facebook group.

Fellow social media users were so impressed by the look.

“Love the look,” one social media user commented on the images of the lamp.

Another added: “They look awesome.”

One simply said: “What a great idea!”

Many were keen on a tutorial video so they could make their own version of the lamp.
