OH HOW the other half live.

The sale of American Vogue editor-at-large Candy Pratts Price’s home has given us a rare insight into the dwellings of one of the most stylish people on the planet.

Better than a hotel: One of the guest rooms.

Aside from working for Anna Wintour, Pratts has also worked for Harper’s Bazaar, Style.com, and counts the likes of Zac Posen, Diane von Furstenberg and Francisco Costa (who called her an icon) as friends. Add to that the fact that she’s married to American artist Chuck Price, and it’s a safe bet that their house is pretty on-point.

A living space only an editor and an artist would get away with.

Pratts and her husband are selling their three-bedroom three-bathroom New York Hamptons house for a moderate $2.85 million (AU$3.65 million). Their house was designed by architect Michael Haverland, who also designed Calvin Klein’s East Hampton home.

According to their real estate agent, “The captivating master suite has handpainted Chinese silk murals, antique mirror closet doors, a fireplace and a bath suite with a steam spa. The spa bathroom leads onto an intimate wisteria-covered balcony.”

There’s also a Baroque-style swimming pool, a garden, private terraces in each bedroom and a separate cottage for guests.

Splash News reports that Pratt’s favourite part of the house “is the fireplace framed with mirrored moulding from the lobby of Hampshire House (Luciano Pavarotti’s former home) that was decorated by the home interiors doyenne Dorothy Draper in 1937” — not that we would expect anything less.
