Fully-stocked and neatly organised pantry goes viral for wrong reason

This super fully-stocked and delightfully organised family pantry has left hundreds of Aussies outraged — but can you see why?

At first glance, it looks like a delightfully organised pantry, enough to make the majority of us squirm uncomfortably as we think of our own chaotic cupboards.

But this fully-stocked and very tidy pantry is being slammed online after horrified social media users spotted its contents.

The photo of the super-tidy cupboard — stocked with boxes of food, bottles of drinks and packets of snacks — was shared on the Facebook group Budgeting, Food, Stockpiling, Savings Ideas, Life Help Australia with the simple caption: “First thing that comes to mind?”

Despite being full to the brim with food, the quality of it has been called into question.

This jam-packed pantry may be full to the brim and organised perfectly, but people aren't happy about it.

“It’s all rubbish food. Can you say diabetes, poor diet, poor body, poor gut health, poor mental health and throw some OCD in there as well,” one commenter scoffed.

“Holy crap … So much processed food. The people in that house would be horribly unhealthy,” said another.

“Sad pantry of processed commercial shi*te,” a horrified user chipped in.

“Way too much junk food in there,” someone added.

Another person blasted: “So much unhealthy crap!” as another wrote, “I’d starve before I ate anything on those shelves.”

Other criticisms included “disgusting”, “gross” and “way too much”.

Not everyone hated the tidy shelves, though, with some marvelling at how “pretty” and “neat” it looked — despite the questionable food choices.

“It’s so pretty! Then wow so neat! Then full pantry, then hmm how do they keep it so neat? Then ohh it’s a lot of processed goods … then ouch unhealthy. Seriously though it’s so pretty and tidy! That’s all I see,” one user mused.

“This is so neat,” another declared.

Others stated they’d love for the mystery pantry owner — believed to be from the US — to come and organise their cupboards.

Since being shared on Wednesday, the post has received over 1300 comments from riled-up users.

The contents of the shelves include a row of sugar-packed cereals, such as Fruit Loops, and one of sugary drinks like Gatorade. There’s also giant bags of potato chips stacked back to back and a heap of boxed cakes.

This pantry went viral last month after Facebook users branded it ‘feral’.

It’s not the first pantry to go viral for all the wrong reasons, with an Aussie mum’s Kmart overhaul of her kitchen cupboard causing uproar in April.

While the contents were incredibly neat and tidy, an “aggressive” sign containing “pantry rules” hanging on the door had people up in arms.

It said: “I spent two days organising this pantry, if you mess it up, I will cut you.”

However, some pantries get the seal of approval online, such as Adelaide woman Iryna Federico’s pristine pastel dream.
